Asset Transfers
Gifts of appreciated stocks and mutual funds often provide important tax advantages. Morton Library and Community House has the ability to accept transfers of stocks and mutual funds as a way to provide donors with tax advantaged charitable donations.
Another tax advantaged opportunity for donors over the age of seventy and a half comes from the Qualified Charitable Distributions, whereas the donor may benefit from making contributions directly from their IRAs.
We encourage you to work with your lawyer or tax/financial advisor as you consider your charitable giving options.
Always discuss the potential tax advantages with your tax advisor.
