NYS Excelsior Pass June 8, 2021
Summer is coming! New York State is beginning to reopen, and outdoor gathering and events are becoming more available to the public. In order to participate, many locations will require evidence of vaccination status or a negative-test result. The Excelsior Pass is a way to present digital proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status or negative test results. The pass can be stored digitally on smartphones with the Excelsior Pass Wallet app or it can be printed out through the Excelsior Pass website.
How it works: The website asks for the following information: First Name Last name Date of Birth Zip Code Vaccination location or COVID-19 test location Vaccination type or COVID-19 test type Vaccination date or COVID-19 test date Using this information, the website will query the State-hosted database to search for your record and generate pass sent to your device. The pass will be a QR code that can be scanned in order to pull up your vaccine record. In situations requiring the pass, you will also need to bring a form of valid photo ID in order to confirm your identity. Concerns regarding privacy and security laws are addressed on the app and website.
