State, county, and local governments have created and are creating various methods, including web sites and emails, for residents to receive emergency alerts and news. Here are links to some services available to residents of the MidHudson Library System area.
New York Alert
“New Yorkers can subscribe for NY-Alert to receive critical information and emergency alerts on what is happening in their area. NY-Alert contains critical, emergency-related information including instructions and recommendations in real-time by emergency personnel. Information may include severe weather warnings, significant highway closures, hazardous material spills and other emergency conditions.”
Dutchess County Subscription Services
“Dutchess County Online offers various ways for website visitors to be notified of important County news, events, public health updates, alerts and advisories and more.
