TUESDAY’S TIP

Food Pantries      November 13, 2018

Food Security is an issue for many families in our communities year round. This holiday season consider donating your time, goods, or money to a local food pantry or food justice organization. Find something in your area and lend a helping hand if you can, or get a helping hand if you need.

Dutchess Outreach

If you’ve been to Adriance Memorial Library on a Wednesday afternoon recently, you’ll have surely seen Dutchess Outreach’s Mobile Farmstand parked outside, offering healthy, delicious produce to all. Dutchess Outreach runs several food equity programs, including the once monthly Free Farm Stand, coming up this week on November 16th. Check back on their website for location information, or to get more information on how you can help!

The Food Bank of the Hudson Valley website provides a clearinghouse location to find all kinds of information regarding food banks in New York. You can search agencies by county (Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Putnam, Ulster) to find the locations closest to you, or you can sign up to volunteer or donate through them directly.
