On Thursday, May 10th, we will celebrate the generosity of Suzanne Borrelli with the dedication of our new reading room. I believe that Suzanne’s love of Morton Memorial Library had to do a lot with what we have always striven for here – a feeling of welcome, of friendship, of discovery.
Today seemed to encapsulate that very feeling. We had students practicing for a piano recital in Morton Hall, tutoring taking place in the reading room, people coming in just to check out seeds from the seed library, and yes, folks coming in to become members of the library and to check out books.
There was such a feeling of camaraderie – people who were old friends ran into each other and people who had never been to Morton found that they indeed knew others patrons.
Thank you, Suzanne! And thank you all for making Morton home!
